how it all began

Our story begins with Elena our founder. As an architect she found her true calling in painting during architecture school. She had never painted or drawn particularly well and dedicated her free time during trips and vacations to practice and find her style. Her first attempt at selling her art came in the form of fans. She sold them to friends and family never really growing beyond that. Maybe the occasional request.

In 2023 she moved to Rome and with a change in her work environment, going from full-time to part-time, she bet on herself and began painting on canvas and selling her artwork on several pop up markets around town. However, the attention was minimal and the sales were enough to breakeven pushing her to sell on the street. Without much direction and limited resources her ambition stretched to helping others reach an audience and developing Monotapp with the help of fellow Rome Business School alumni.
